A short stop in Hong Kong was enough to fall in love with this interesting metropolis. Very international and so different from the mainland China. It’s the diversity that makes the city appealing. High tech skyscrapers stand next to historical buildings, fast food chains next to food streets. We only had a short time, so we packed it quite full. Taking the Star Ferry in the morning to Hong Kong Central where we had lunch in Maxim’s Palace, a ballroom kind of place with trolleys filled with steaming dumplings send us way back in time. Later we took the Peak Tram, on Victoria Peak you truly have the best view on the immense skyscrapers. In the night we tasted a bit of the Hong Kong nightlife starting in a bar with the best view and sipping on Earl Grey Martini in a secret underground bar. We hope to return there some time soon.
